For the love of a good book
9 November, 2010 - 16:14

There is an old Chinese saying: 'To read a book for the first time is to make an acquaintance with a new friend, to read it a second time is to meet an old one'. This pretty much sums up how, for many, the act of reading a book transports them to a whole new world of complete solitude and immersion in fictitious fantasy. For many people, a world without fiction is not worth contemplating, and there is a school of thought that book reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.

The Spy has recently - and rather begrudgingly - had to accept that the old notebook and pen will no longer cut the mustard in this fast-paced technological age. A nation of chocoholics
4 November, 2010 - 15:25

A recent survey has found that we Brits have the sweetest teeth in Europe, with an almost insatiable appetite for chocolate. We at Spy Towers find it hard to believe that on average, each one of us devoured 11.2 kg (24.7 lb) of chocolate last year. To put that into context, that is 266 Mars bars each!
